The expert workshop took place on 19 November 2013 in Laxenburg, Austria and aimed at bringing together transport experts to share knowledge and ultimately provide guidance for improving Integrated Assessment Models.
Workshop participants discussed the present state of transport modelling within IAM frameworks, as well as challenges ahead. Special attention was given to data sources, modelling of behavioural aspects and consumer preferences as well as transport infrastructure.
Session I: What is the current state of transport modelling in IAMs and where should it go?
Session II: What transport data is available and what more do we need for IAM work?
Session III: Key determinants of mode choice and service demand - how can IAM transport models be improved to reflect heterogeneous behavior and consumer choices?
Session IV: How can transport infrastructure be better modelled in IAMs?
